Background Info

The Wharton Investment Competition is an optional online competition, where teams across the world compete against each other. Our club will participate as one team.

Meetings will focus on our other, main activities rather than the competition. Participating in the competition is entirely optional and will not hurt your experience at meetings.

The competition primarily involves managing a simulated stock portfolio as well as writing two reports detailing the team’s investment methodology.

The competition lasts from September 28th to December 4th.

General Interest Survey Results

Based on the results of the general interest poll, we are participating in the Wharton Investment Competition this 2026-2027 school year.

Unlike last year’s approach of having two separate teams, we are unifying into a single team this year. This consolidates our focus into one shared goal instead of splitting our attention between separate portfolios and reports.

We recognize this action might disappoint some, since a single team can “officially” only hold six people. However, we want everyone who is interested to participate unofficially, not just the six who are officially rostered. The ultimate goal really is to learn: learn how to articulate trades; learn how to write financial reports; learn what investment banking or private equity is like. Because the chances of our team advancing are very slim, the official roster really doesn’t matter; what matters is what we take out from it.
